ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears have agreed to terms with rookie forward Ryan Siiro for the 2018-19 season.
Siiro is coming off a 21-game stint with the Colorado Eagles during the 2017-18 season, in which he generated six points (3g-3a) and six penalty minutes. The 25-year-old also skated in 33 games with the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League, recording 22 points (10g-12a) and 46 penalty minutes. Siiro then suited up for seven postseason contests with Peoria, amassing four points (1g-3a) and six penalty minutes, while helping lead the Rivermen to the SPHL President’s Cup Finals.
Prior to turning pro, the native of Bloomington, Minnesota played four seasons of college hockey at Princeton University, where he recorded 34 points (13g-21a) and 84 penalty minutes in 123 games for the Tigers. He also served as team captain during his senior season in 2016-17. Additionally, Siiro played junior hockey for the Sioux Falls Stampede and Dubuque Fighting Saints of the United States Hockey League, recording 45 points (17g-28a) and 100 penalty minutes in 115 games.
