Portland, Maine –The Maine Mariners announced the team has signed Riley Bourbonnais, Brady Vail and Mike Marnell to contracts for the 2018-19 season.
The Mariners are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Rangers an the American Hockey League's Hartford Wolf Pack.
Bourbonnais, a forward from Rochester, New York is the second player to follow Mariners' Head Coach Riley Armstrong from Wheeling to Maine. Following a successful NCAA career with R.P.I. where he served as team captain his senior year, Bourbonnais joined the Nailers for the remainder of the 2016-17 season and the entirety of the 2017-18 season which saw him play in 67 games and post 42 points (23g-19a).
Vail, from Hendersonville, North Carolina, comes to the Mariners after ending the 2017-18 season with the Atlanta Gladiators. An experienced forward, Vail has 41 AHL games under his belt and 208 ECHL games where he has recorded 147 points (59g-88a).
Marnell, a forward from South Huntington, New York, will make his professional debut for the Mariners following four seasons at St. Lawrence University. Marnell tallied 79 points (45g-34a_ in 115 career games with the Saints.
