Ward returns for third season with Monarchs

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and General Manager Doug Christiansen announced that the Monarchs have signed Cory Ward for the 2018-19 season.

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.

Ward, 24, returns to the Monarchs after playing in 22 games for Manchester last season, recording 15 points (8g-7a). Ward has played in 90 games for the Monarchs over the past two seasons, racking up 52 points (24g-28a).

The native of Las Vegas played collegiately at Bemidji State University, where he skated in 151 career games over a four-year career, and scored 80 points (45g-35a). Along with his ECHL experience, Ward has played 33 games in the AHL between the St. John’s IceCaps, Syracuse Crunch, Ontario Reign and Springfield Thunderbirds.
