KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Columbus Blue Jackets, announced the signing of defenseman Anthony Florentino.
Florentino enters his sixth professional season and signs with Kalamazoo after playing 16 games with the Atlanta Gladiators last season. With the Gladiators, Florentino recorded three points (1g-2a) and earned a +6 rating.
The 27-year-old has totaled 30 points (9g-21a) and 117 penalty minutes in 178 career games with six professional teams, including Rochester in the American Hockey League, Atlanta, Cincinnati, Kansas City and Worcester in the ECHL, and Birmingham in the Southern Professional Hockey League.
Florentino played collegiately for Providence College from 2013-17, winning the National Championship in 2015. He was selected in the fifth round (143rd overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres.
