Phillips inks deal with Ghost Pirates

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Savannah Ghost Pirates, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vegas Golden Knights and the American Hockey League’s Henderson Silver Knights, announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Clayton Phillips for the 2022-23 season.

Phillips joins the Ghost Pirates after recording 12 points (5g-7a) during his senior campaign at Penn State University last season.  After concluding his collegiate career this past spring, Phillips made his professional debut with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, appearing in one game.

The 22-year-old totaled 38 points (11g-27a) during his collegiate career split between Penn State and the University of Minnesota.

Phillips is a resident of Edina, Minnesota, and was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
