Thompson is Bellevue University ECHL Alumnus of the Month

Former Adirondack Thunder and South Carolina Stingrays’ goaltender Logan Thompson of the Vegas Golden Knights is the Bellevue University ECHL Alumnus of the Month for March.

The 27-year-old went 5-1-0 in seven appearances during the month with a 2.05 goals-against average and a save percentage of .932. Thompson allowed one goal in five of his six starts while making at least 28 saves in four of his outings.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Thompson appeared in 40 games with the Thunder and Stingrays during the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons going 25-12-2 with three shutouts, a 2.34 goals-against average and a save percentage of .927. During the 2019-20 season with South Carolina, he finished second in the ECHL with a .929 save percentage and was fourth with a 2.25 goals-against average.

Thompson has appeared in 98 career games for the Golden Knights posting an overall record of 53-30-11 with four shutouts, a 2.65 goals-against average and a save percentage of .913.

There have been 751 players who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including 11 who have made their debut in 2023-24. The ECHL has had 559 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 495 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last 19 seasons for an average of more than 26 per year.
