Steelheads re-sign Holmes

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads, ECHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced that the club has signed forward Robbie Holmes to a contract for the 2026-27 season.

Holmes, 27, enters his second professional season after spending his ECHL rookie campaign in Idaho last year. He collected 24 points (10g-14a) in 55 games last season, while chipping in two assists in three playoff games in the club’s first round playoff series against the Allen Americans. 

Prior to professional hockey, Holmes spent four seasons at Mount Royal University, where he grabbed 78 points (41g-37a) in 88 career games. The Sarepta, Alberta native played one game with the Kansas City Mavericks during the 2020-21 season after playing four full seasons in the Western Hockey League. He skated in 231 career WHL games totaling 114 points (51g-63a) playing with the Regina Pats and Everett Silvertips from 2016-20.
