Anderson named CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week

J.P. Anderson of the Adirondack Thunder is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for March 13-19.

Anderson went 2-0-0 with a 2.20 goals-against average and a save percentage of .936 in three appearances last week.

The 24-year-old stopped 11 of 12 shots he faced in a relief effort on Friday in a 5-2 loss to Wheeling, made 44 saves in a 5-4 win against the Nailers on Saturday and turned aside 33 shots in a 6-1 victory over Atlanta on Sunday. The 44 saves set a professional career high, surpassing his previous high of 42 from 2013 with the San Francisco Bulls.

A native of Toronto, Anderson has appeared in 22 games with Wheeling and Adirondack this season with an overall record of 12-4-3 with one shutout. He is tied for eighth in the league with a 2.71 goals-against average and is 11th with a .910 save percentage.

Anderson has seen action in 57 career ECHL games with Adirondack, Wheeling, Allen, San Francisco and Ontario posting a mark of 21-17-10 with one shutout, a 2.93 goals-against average and a save percentage of .902. He also has 17 games of American Hockey League experience with Worcester and Albany

Prior to turning pro, Anderson appeared in 223 career Ontario Hockey League games with Mississauga and Sarnia going 126-76-13 with 12 shutouts, a 2.86 goals-against average and a save percentage of .906.
