Faille named Sher-Wood Hockey/ECHL Player of the Week

Eric Faille of the Orlando Solar Bears is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Feb. 27-March 5.

Faille scored three goals and added four assists for seven points in two games against Greenville last week.

The 27-year-old recorded four points (1g-3a) in a 7-5 loss on Thursday and tallied three points (2g-1a), while adding the game-winning goal, in a 5-3 win on Saturday.

A native of Lachine, Quebec, Faille leads the Solar Bears with 53 points (20g-33a) in 43 games this season. He has added three points (1g-2a) in 11 games with Toronto of the American Hockey League.

Faille has posted 167 points (71g-96a) in 144 career ECHL games with Orlando and Fort Wayne and has 19 points (10g-9a) in 47 career AHL games with Toronto and Texas.

Prior to turning pro, Faille tallied 114 points (46g-68a) in 95 career games at the University of Moncton and 187 points (73g-114a) in 246 career games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with Acadie-Bathurst.

On behalf of Eric Faille, a case of pucks will be donated to an Orlando youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 35,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
