DULUTH, Ga. – The Atlanta Gladiators announced that they have signed forward Louick Marcotte to a contract for the 2018-19 season.
The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Boston Bruins and the American Hockey League's Providence Bruins.
Marcotte, 24, registered 33 points (14g-19a) and a +6 rating in 48 ECHL games for Wichita, Fort Wayne and Wheeling last season. The Longueuill, Quebec native set a career highs in goals (18), assists (20) and points (38) in 62 games with the Wichita Thunder during the 2016-17 season. Marcotte accumulated 29 points (16g-13a) in 57 games his rookie season for the Adirondack Thunder. Overall the fourth-year pro has notched 100 points (48g-52a) in 167 career ECHL games.
Prior to the start of his pro career, Marcotte earned 255 points (119g-136a) in 277 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for Gatineau, Val-d’Or and Prince Edward Island. His best QMJHL season came in 2013-14 when the winger posted 100 points (42g-58a) in 67 games for the Val-d’Or Foreurs en route to the team appearing in the Memorial Cup Finals.
