Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors, announced the signing of defenseman Dylan Labbe for the 2018-19 season.
The 23-year-old out of St. Georges, Quebec enters his fourth season as a pro. A fourth-round selection (107th overall) of the Minnesota Wild in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Labbe appeared in 54 games for the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild during his rookie season, recording six points (4g-2a) and 50 penalty minutes. Last season, he played the majority of the year with the Rapid City Rush. He brings 143 games of pro experience to the Thunder blueline, having also spent time with the Quad City Mallards in 2016-17.
Prior to turning pro, Labbe played three seasons for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Shawinigan Cataractes. He scored a career-high 51 points (15g-36a) in 2014-15 and finished with 106 points (31g-71a) during his junior career.
