Colton Phinney of the Adirondack Thunder has been named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Oct. 22-28.
Phinney, who was traded to Atlanta on Monday, went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .962 in two appearances with the Thunder last week.
The 25-year-old made 27 saves in a 4-1 win against Worcester on Wednesday and turned aside 24 shots in a 3-1 victory against Maine on Friday.
A native of Chatham, New Jersey, Phinney is tied for the league lead with four wins this season while posting a 2.95 goals-against average and a save percentage of .896 in five appearances.
Phinney has appeared in 27 career ECHL games with Adirondack, Indy and Jacksonville posting an overall record of 9-9-4 with a 3.23 goals-against average and a save percentage of .890. He also has seen action in two career American Hockey League games with Manitoba and Binghamton.
Prior to turning pro, Phinney appeared in 110 career games at Princeton University.
