Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, have loaned forward Braylon Shmyr to the Springfield Thunderbirds of the American Hockey League.

The rookie forward is tied for the ECHL lead in both goals (7) and points (14). Shmyr was signed by Allen as a free agent in September. He joined Allen late last season and had four points in nine games.

Shmyr played his junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Brandon Wheat Kings and Saskatoon Blades from 2013-18. In his final season with Saskatoon, he led his team in scoring by putting up 88 points (37g-51a) in 72 games.
