Sean Bonar of the Atlanta Gladiators has been named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Jan. 14-20.
Bonar went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .964 in two appearances at Greenville last week.
The 27-year-old stopped all 30 shots in 3-0 win on Friday and made 32 saves in a 2-1 victory on Saturday.
A native of Delta, British Columbia, Bonar has seen action in 19 games for the Gladiators this season posting a record of 8-8-2 with two shutouts. He is tied for third in the ECHL with a .928 save percentage and is fourth with a 2.31 goals-against average.
Bonar has appeared in 70 career ECHL games with Atlanta, Brampton, Fort Wayne, Wichita, Indy and Orlando with an overall record of 28-30-5 with five shutouts, a 2.72 goals-against average and a save percentage of .914. He also has 70 games of experience in the Southern Professional Hockey League with Fayetteville and Pensacola.
Prior to turning pro, Bonar appeared in 63 career games at Princeton University and 60 career games with Penticton of the British Columbia Hockey League.
