Kalamazoo Wings’ forward Tanner Sorenson has been named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for January. Sorenson scored nine goals and assisted on 11 others for 20 points in 11 games during the month. The 25-year-old, posted at least one point in nine of his 11 games, and had six multi-point games, including a six-point game (2g-4a) on Jan. 16 a hat trick on Jan. 5 at Cincinnati. A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Sorenson has recorded 36 points (13g-23a) in 27 games with the K-Wings this season. He began the season with Winterthur EHC in Switzerland where he had five points (3g-2a) in eight games. Sorenson has recorded 108 points (48g-60a) in 161 career ECHL games with Kalamazoo and Alaska. Prior to turning pro, Sorenson had 35 points (19g-17a) in 104 career games at Michigan State University.
