The Newfoundland Growlers moved on to the second round of the 2019 Kelly Cup Playoffs presented by SmileDirectClub on Tuesday with a 3-2 overtime win over the Brampton Beast in Game 6 of the North Division Semifinals at Mile One Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland.
Newfoundland will meet Manchester, a 4 games to 1 winner over Adirondack, in the North Division Finals.
Trailing 2-1 late in the third period, the Growlers got the equalizer on a Scott Pooley power-play tally at 13:40 and picked up the winner just 23 seconds into the extra session on a man-advantage goal from Sam Jardine.
Pooley led Newfoundland in the series with three goals while Michael Garteig picked up all four wins in goal
The Beast were led in the series by Daniel Ciampini who had four goals and seven points.
