RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Arizona Coyotes, announced that goaltender Brad Barone has re-signed with the team for the 2019-20 season.

Barone came to the Rush on his third and final stint in the ECHL last season, previously playing with the Norfolk Admirals and Newfoundland Growlers. He made his first ECHL stop in Norfolk, posting a 1-3-1 record in seven games with a 3.73 goals-against average and an .890 save percentage. He then played in a trio of games for Newfoundland, boasting a 2-1-0 record along with a 2.35 goals-against average and .908 save percentage before joining the Rush. Barone made stopped 38 of 40 shots in a 4-2 win over Atlanta on Feb. 23 in his Rush debut.

Hailing from Medfield, Massachusetts, Barone began last season with the Southern Professional Hockey League’s Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, going 6-2-2 in 13 games with a 2.68 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage.  He enters his fourth season of professional hockey, split between the SPHL and ECHL. In the 2017-18 season, Barone appeared in 36 games with Roanoke, boasting a 15-15-2 record with a 2.93 goals-against average and a SPHL-leading .917 save perentage, leading Roanoke to its first-ever SPHL Playoffs appearance.  For his efforts, Barone was named the 2018 SPHL Goaltender of the Year, and was also named to the 2018 SPHL First All-Star Team. 

Prior to turning pro, he played three seasons collegiately with Boston College, compiling a record of 2-1-0 in eight appearances.
