Hartman inks deal with Nailers

WHEELING, W.Va. - The Wheeling Nailers announced the team has signed forward Tanner Hartman to a contract for the 2026-27 season.

Hartman, 24, is ready to begin his professional career, following four years of college hockey. He played his first two seasons at Hobart College, where he enjoyed tremendous success both individually and with the team. The Statesmen won back-to-back NCAA National Championships in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Hartman was named to the NEHC All-Rookie Team, thanks to 19 points in 29 games as a freshman. As a sophomore, he racked up 45 points (20g-25a) in 31 games, and was named to the NEHC First Team All-Conference, the All-USCHO First Team, an AHCA First Team All-American (East), the NEHC All-Tournament Team and the NCAA All-Tournament Team.

The Chicago, Illinois native transferred to Brown University for his final two seasons of college hockey. Hartman accumulated 12 points (4g-8a) in 48 games with the Bears.

Tanner will become the second member of his family to play hockey at the professional level, as his older brother Ryan is set to begin his 13th NHL season as a member of the Minnesota Wild.
