GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville Swamp Rabbits have agreed to terms with defensemanBrien Diffley on a contract for the 2019–20 season. Diffley split time between two ECHL teams in his debut season, and will look to come back strong in his second season.
The Swamp Rabbits are the ECHL affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League and the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.Diffley began last season with the Wheeling Nailers before being dealt to the Manchester Monarchs. Overall, he posted nine points (1g-8a) and a +7 rating in 43 games.
Prior to turning pro, Diffley was a mainstay on the Boston University blue line. He appeared in 97 games in four seasons with the Terriers, finishing 22 points and a +24 rating.
