RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Arizona Coyotes, announced that forward Alex Rauter has re-signed with the team for the 2019-20 season.
Rauter spent last season, his first as a professional, with three ECHL teams, with the Rush serving as his final stop in the campaign. He began the year with the Wheeling Nailers, and compiled 34 points (10g-24a) in 44 games before being traded to the Manchester Monarchs, adding another goal and assist in six games. Rauter then came to the Rush at the whirlwind trade deadline and accumulated seven points (4g-3a) in the final 12 games of the season.
A native of Chatham, New Jersey, Rauter got his first taste of professional hockey with the Atlanta Gladiators in the 2017-18 season, tallying three points (2g-1a) in three games, while adding a goal in four playoff games.
Prior to turning pro, he played college hockey with Cornell University, where he was captain during the 2017-18 season, amassing career college totals of 43 points (20g-23a) in 93 games. He also made stops in the North American Hockey League with the Wenatchee Wild and the United States Hockey League with the Youngstown Phantoms and Omaha Lancers.
