RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Arizona Coyotes, announced that forward Peter Quenneville has signed with the team for the 2019-20 season.
Quenneville will make his return to North America following three seasons playing in Europe. Last season, he played with Sparta Sarpsborg in Norway and averaged over a point-per-game, tallying 50 points (20g-30a) in 48 games, along with a +14 rating. He maintained his scoring average into the playoffs, adding another six points (3g-3a) in 6 games.
A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Quenneville has spent time in Norway, the Czech Republic, Finland and Denmark. With the Aalborg Pirates in Denmark, he was the league’s leading goal-scorer in 2017 with 30 goals in 45 games, and won the 2018 Danish League and Danish Cup championships.
In his career, Quenneville has amassed 142 points (72g-70a) in 185 games. Prior to his professional career, he spent time in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, the United States Hockey League with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, college hockey with Qunnipiac University and the Western Hockey League with the Brandon Wheat Kings. He was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the seventh round (195th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
