BOISE, Idaho – Forward Conner Bleackley has agreed to terms with the Idaho Steelheads for the 2019-20 season, joining the organization for his fourth professional season.
The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars and the American Hockey League's Texas Stars.
Bleackley, 23, played 57 games with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage during the 2018-19 season, posting 16 points (5g-11a).
The High River, Alberta native made his professional debut with the Chicago Wolves in the 2016-17 season, and has played 122 games in the AHL with 28 points (8g-20a). He also played 54 ECHL games between the Missouri Mavericks (2016-17) and Tulsa Oilers (2017-18), boasting 55 points (26g-29a) and being named to the roster for the 2018 ECHL All-Star Classic.
Prior to his professional career, Bleackley played five seasons with the Western Hockey League's Red Deer Rebels from 2011-16, tallying 183 points (80g-103a) in 259 games while serving as captain for his final three seasons. He also participated in the 2014 IIHF U18 World Junior Championships and 2013 U17 World Hockey Challenge, and he was also named an assistant captain for both events for Team Canada.
Bleackley was a first-round selection (23rd overall) of the Colorado Avalanche in the 2014 NHLEntry Draft and then selected was selected in the fifth round (144th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
