Admirals re-sign Thibault

NORFOLK, Va. The Norfolk Admirals announced on Friday that the team has re-signed defenseman Sam Thibault for the 2020-21 season.

Thibault, 24, returns to Norfolk after playing in 32 games with the Admirals last season. Thibault started the year with the Indy Fuel before he was traded to Norfolk on Nov. 11.

The Ste-Martine, Quebec native began his professional career with the Wichita Thunder in 2017-18, while also recceiving a two-game call-up to the American Hockey League's Bakersfield Condors. Thibault began the 2018-19 season with the Toledo Walleye, where he suited up in 38 games before being traded to Indy.

Prior to turning pro, Thibault played three seasons with Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he served as team captain in 2016-17.
