Theut returns to Admirals

NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk Admirals announced they have re-signed goaltender Jake Theutfor the 2020-21 season.

Theut, 26, began his first season as a professional in 2019-20 with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the Southern Professional Hockey League, going 3-5-1 with a 2.72 goals-against average in 11 appearances.

Following his stint in Roanoke, the Washington, Michigan product joined the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, where he appeared in three games, before being traded to Norfolk on Feb. 11. Theut finished the season with the Admirals, where he went 2-4-3 in nine appearances.

Before turning pro, Theut spent four years at Northeastern University, before transfering to the University of Alabama-Huntsville, where he played in 12 games with the Chargers in his final year of eligibility.
