WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda, announced that forward Cam Mitchell has re-signed for the 2026-27 season.
Mitchell, 25, joined the Thunder this past March. A native of Stony Plain, Alberta, he netted four assists in 17 games. He recorded his first pro point on March 24 against Kansas City.
Prior to turning pro, Mitchell spent four seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he tallied 28 points (10g-18a) in 94 games. He was also named an alternate captain during his senior campaign.
Mitchell played five seasons of junior hockey split between the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Spruce Grove Saints and United States Hockey League's Omaha Lancers. He finished with 57 points (18g-39a) in 111 career games for the Lancers before committing to UNO.
