Former Atlanta Gladiators' goaltender Dan Vladar became the 678th former ECHL player to reach the NHL when he debuted with the Boston Bruins in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Semfinals series against Tamp Bay on Wednesday.
Vladar is the 16th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2019-20 season. He appeared in 60 career games with the Gladiators from 2016-20 with an overall record of 23-27-4 with a 3.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .904. He stopped 20 of 22 shots in his one appearance for the Gladiators this season, a 4-2 win over Norfolk on Nov. 27.
A third-round selection (75th overall) of the Bruins in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Vladar has seen action in 68 career American Hockey League games with Providence where he is 33-22-7 with six shutouts, a 2.35 goals-against average and a save percentage of .916. In 2019-20, he led the AHL with a 1.79 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage.
