The National Hockey League's Arizona Coyotes have hired former Trenton Titans head coach Bill Armstrong as their new general manager.
Armstrong spent two seasons as Trenton's coach, leading the Titans to a 75-52-17 record during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons.
Following the 2003-04 season, he was hired by the St. Louis Blues as an amateur scout and was named director of amateur scouting in 2010. He just completed his second season as the Blues' assistant general manager, and earned a Stanley Cup ring in 2019.
Armstrong is the second person with ECHL ties to become an NHL general manager, joining Calgary's Brad Treliving, who played 243 games with Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Columbus, Charlotte and Louisville from 1990-95.
