Estephan joins Mavericks for third pro season

Estephan joins Mavericks for third pro season

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Kansas City Mavericks announced the signing of forward Giorgio Estephan for the 2020-21 season.

Estephan, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, joins the Mavericks after posting 52 points (18g-34a) in 44 games with the Newfoundland Growlers during the 2019-20 season. As a rookie in 2018-19, he tallied 53 points (20g-33a) in 69 games with Newfoundland, and earned a spot in the 2019 ECHL All-Star Classic. During the 2019 Kelly Cup Playoffs, he added 24 points (9g-15a) in 23 contests, helping to lead the Growlers to the Kelly Cup title.

Estephan was selected in the sixth round (152nd overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
