Lankinen makes NHL debut

Former Indy Fuel goaltender Kevin Lankinen became the 683rd former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Chicago Blackhakws on Tuesday at Florida.

Lankinen is the fifth former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season. He went 4-2-0 in six appearances with the Fuel during the 2018-19 season with a 3.18 goals-against average and a save percentage of .893.

A native of Helsinki, Finland, Lankinen has made 40 career American Hockey League appearances with Rockford where he has gone 15-18-6 with a 2.77 goals-against average and a save percentage of .909.
