Smith makes NHL debut

Smith makes NHL debut

Cole Smith, who began this season with the Florida Everblades, became the 679th former ECHL player to reach the NHL when he debuted with the Nashville Predators on Thursday against Columbus.

Smith is the first former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season. He posted three points (1g-2a) in five games with the Everblades this season.

Prior to turning pro, Smith posted 51 points (24g-26a) in 137 career games at the University of North Dakota.
