Ahcan makes NHL debut

Former Jacksonville Icemen defenseman Jack Ahcan became the 692nd former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Boston Bruins at Buffalo on Thursday.

Ahcan is the 14th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season. He appeared in two games with the Icemen earlier this season. He joins Tanner Jeannot and Cole Smith, who have both played for Florida and Nashville this season, as players to appear in both the ECHL and NHL in 2020-21.

A native of Savage, Minnesota, Ahcan has seven points (1g-6a) in 12 American Hockey League games with Providence this season.
