Gustavsson makes NHL debut

Former Brampton Beast goaltender Filip Gustavsson became the 691st former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Ottawa Senators against Vancouver on Wednesday.

Gustavsson is the 13th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season. He appeared in two games with the Beast during the 2018-19 season.

A second-round selection (55th overall) of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Gustavsson has seen action in 68 career games in the American Hockey League with Belleville where he is 31-30-5 with two shutouts, a 3.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .892.
