Walcott makes NHL debut

Walcott makes NHL debut

Former Greenville Swamp Rabbits' defenseman Daniel Walcott became the 697th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Tampa Bay Lightning at Florida on Monday.

Walcott is the 19th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season. He skated in three games with the Swamp Rabbits during the 2015-16 season.

Selected by the New York Rangers in the fifth round (140th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Walcott has totaled 66 points (19g-47a) in 249 career games in the American Hockey League with Syracuse and Hartford.
