Hillis makes NHL debut

Cameron Hillis, who has skated in six games with the Trois-Rivieres Lions this season, became the 716th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday at Florida.

Hillis is the 18th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2021-22 season. He has recorded three assists in his six games with the Lions.

A third-round selection (66th overall) of the Canadiens in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Hillis has totaled five points (3g-2a) in 25 games with Laval of the American Hockey League over the past two seasons.
