Komets acquire Oliver, sign two

Komets acquire Oliver, sign two

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The Fort Wayne Komets have traded the rights to defenseman Matt Murphy to Iowa in exchange for forward Kaid Oliver. In addition, goaltender Rylan Toth and defenseman Aiden Jamieson have agreed to terms with the Komets for the 2022-23 season.

Oliver, 22, skated in 70 games in his rookie season with the Heartlanders, posting 50 points (15g-35a). The White Rock, British Columbia native also skated one game with the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League.

Toth went 11-5-1 with a 2.34 goals-against average and a save percentage of .920 for the University of British Columbia last season. The 26-year-old also saw action in one game with the AHL's Abbotsford Canucks of the AHL.

Jamieson, 26, played four seasons for Dalhousie University, appearing in 89 games and tallying 37 points (9g-28a). Prior to his time in college he accumulated 71 points (5g-66a) in 203 career games in the Ontario Hockey League.
