Rush bring back Martin

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Calgary Flames, announced the return of defenseman Charles Martin for the 2023-24 season.

Martin joined the Rush in March after the conclusion of his college hockey career the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He made his professional debut with the Rush on March 4, and scored his first pro goal on March 11, the third period game-winner against Wichita. Overall, Martin earned nine points (1g-8a) in 19 games with Rapid City.

A native of Blainville, Quebec, Martin was the top-scoring defenseman on the team as a senior, and second-leading scorer overall, compiling 18 points (3g-15a) in 28 games. For his efforts, Martin was named to the 2023 WIAC All-Conference Team. In total throughout his collegiate career, he racked up 36 points (6g-30a) in 94 games, while also garnering 2022 WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team honors, and helped lead the Yellow Jackets to the 2021 WIAC championship.
