GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Los Angeles Kings, announced that defenseman Bobby Russell is set to return for his fourth season with the team in 2024-25.
Russell matched career-highs in goals (5) and points (17) in 39 games last season before adding another pair of goals in four Kelly Cup Playoff games.
A native of Langley, British Columbia, Russell, has played the entirety of his ECHL career with the Swamp Rabbits. Over the course of his previous three years in Greenville, he’s amassed 48 points (12g-36a) in 143 games, and added six points (3g-3a) in 10 Kelly Cup Playoff contests. During his rookie season in 2021-22, Russell was twice called up to the American Hockey League, earning an assist in one game with the Ontario Reign followed by an additional nine contests with the Charlotte Checkers.
Prior to turning professional, Russell skated parts of five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Spokane Chiefs and Kootenay Ice, totaling 55 points (14g-41a) in 178 games.
