Former Utah Grizzlies' goaltender Trent Miner became the 753rd former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Colorado Avalanche on Friday against Washington.
Miner is the first former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2024-25 season. He appeared in 76 games with Utah from 2021-24 going 39-32-3 with 10 shutouts, a 2.88 goals-against average and a save percentage of .911. He led the ECHL with seven shutouts during the 2021-22 season, a total which is tied for the second-most in a single-season in ECHL history.
Selected by the Avalanche in the seventh round (202nd overall) of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Miner has also seen action in 36 career American Hockey League games for Colorado where he has gone 16-14-5 with two shutouts, a 2.32 goals-against average and a save percentage of .918.
