Abols makes NHL debut

Former Greenville Swamp Rabbits' forward Rodrigo Abols became the 760th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday against Detroit.

Abols is the eighth former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2024-25 season. He had four points (3g-1a) in four games with the Swamp Rabbits during the 2019-20 season.

Selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the seventh round (184th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Abols has recorded 42 points (16g-26a) in 70 career American Hockey League games with Springfield and Lehigh Valley while adding 138 points (86g-52a) in 280 career games in the KHL and in Sweden's Allsvenskan.
