Stingrays bring back Combs

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, announced that the team has signed forward Charlie Combs to a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Combs finished second on the team in 2024-25 in with 26 goals and added 24 assists in 64 games. The St. Louis, Missouri native added two goals in the postseason, including the overtime game-winning goal in Game 5 of the 2025 Kelly Cup South Division Semifinals against the Orlando Solar Bears. 

Before coming to the Stingrays, Combs spent the previous three seasons in Europe, playing in both the Elite Ice Hockey League and Metal Ligaen. In two seasons in the EIHL with the Dundee Stars (2021-22) and Glasgow Clan (2023-24), he totaled 96 points (46g-50a) in 84 games.
