WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda, announced the signing of defenseman Ty Gibson for the 2025-26 season.

Gibson, 22, enters his second year as a pro. A native of Victoria, British Columbia, he played his rookie campaign last season with the Adirondack Thunder, colleting nine assits in 59 games.

Prior to turning pro, Gibson spent the majority of his four-year junior career with the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips before being traded to the Regina Pats midway through the 2023-24 season. Gibson finished with 71 points (10g-61a) in 215 career WHL games.
