NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, have announced that they have signed defenseman Nolan Krenzen to a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Krenzen returns to South Carolina after breaking into professional hockey with the Stingrays last season following five years with the University of Nebraska-Omaha. The 24-year-old made his debut for South Carolina on April 5 against the Orlando Solar Bears and played in the final four games of the regular season.

During his time at UNO, Krenzen was named the 25th captain in program history for the 2024-25 season. Throughout his career, he played in 161 games with the Mavericks, fourth-most in program history, while recording 40 points (4g-36a) and posting a +19 rating.

Prior to his college career, Krenzen played in the United States Hockey League with the Sioux City Musketeers and Omaha Lancers from 2018-20.
