Wichita adds Kyte

WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and American Hockey League's San Jose Barracuda, announced that defensemen Patrick Kyte has been signed for the 2025-26 season. 

The 26-year-old comes to Wichita after a year with the Elite Ice Hockey League's Fife Flyers. Kyte led all Fife defensemen with four goals in 41 contests, along with six assists for 10 points.

Prior to his time overseas, Kyte played four seasons collegiately in Canada's USports. In 2023-24, he tallied seven assists enroute to the University of New Brunswick's University Cup appearance. He spent his first two collegiate seasons with St. Francis Xavier University, racking up 35 points (8g-27a) in 43 games. 

Additionally, the Pembroke, Ontario native played three seasons in the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League with Halifax and Chicoutimi, posting 77 points (20g-57a) in 169 career games.
