BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Bloomington Bison announced the team has signed forward Grant Porter to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Porter scored 19 points (6g-13a) in 16 games with the Bison after finishing his senior season at Canisius University and signing his first professional contract on March 12. He set a Bison record for the most points in a single game when he had five assists against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits on April 9 and was just the fourth player in team history to have a multi-point debut. Porter skated in all six of Bloomington’s playoff games last spring and added six points (3g-3a).
The 24-year-old recorded 35 points (12g-23a) in 35 games at Canisius during the 2025-26 campaign and totaled 57 points (26g-31a) in 85 career collegiate games.
Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Porter played in the United States Hockey League and National Collegiate Development Conference. During the 2020-21 season he tallied 44 points (17g-27a) in 33 games with the NCDC’s New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs. The following season, he registered 20 points (9g-11a) in 57 games with the USHL’s Youngstown Phantoms.
