Serensits inks deal with Goatheads

RIO RANCHO, N.M. - The New Mexico Goatheads announced that the team has signed defenseman Emmett Serensits to a contract for the 2026-27 season.

Serensits joins the Goatheads after spending the 2025-26 season with the Trois-Rivières Lions, where he appeared in 46 regular-season games. He also helped the Lions capture the 2025 Kelly Cup championship after joining the club late in the 2024-25 season, skating in 10 regular-season games and four playoff contests during the championship run.

He begins his third professional season after a collegiate career at the University of Toronto. Over four seasons with the Varsity Blues, Serensits appeared in 97 career games, recording 45 points (9g-36a). He served as captain during his senior season after helping establish himself as one of the program's leaders.

Before beginning his collegiate career, Serensits spent three seasons with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League, where he totaled 49 points (6g-43a) in 187 career games and served as an alternate captain during the 2019-20 season.
