RIO RANCHO, N.M. - The New Mexico Goatheads announced that the team has signed defenseman Trevor Zins to a contract for the 2026-27 season.
Zins joins the Goatheads after splitting the 2025-26 season between the Idaho Steelheads, Greensboro Gargoyles and Indy Fuel. The 27-year-old appeared in 65 regular-season games, recording 17 points (2g-15a), before adding three assists in five Kelly Cup Playoff games with Indy. The Saint Michael, Minnesota native enters his fourth full professional season with more than 200 ECHL regular-season games under his belt.
Prior to turning professional, Zins spent four collegiate seasons between St. Cloud State University and the University of St. Thomas. Following his transfer to St. Thomas, he became a steady presence on the Tommies' blue line before making his professional debut in 2023.
Before beginning his collegiate career, Zins played three seasons in the British Columbia Hockey League with the Trail Smoke Eaters.
