Riley Gill of the Allen Americans is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 5-11.
Gill is the first goaltender to win back-to-back weekly awards since he won for the weeks ending March 17 and 24, 2013 while with Reading. It is the fifth time overall in his career that Gill has received the weekly honor, tied for the third most in ECHL history.
The 31-year-old went 2-0-0 with one shutout, a 0.53 goals-against average and a .987 save percentage in two appearances last week.
Gill made 29 saves in a 4-1 win against Missouri on Wednesday and stopped all 45 shots he faced in a 3-0 victory at Wichita on Friday to record his third consecutive road shutout.
A native of Northfield, Minn., Gill leads the league with three shutouts, is tied for second with 11 wins, is third with a .935 save percentage and is fourth with a 2.22 goals-against average.
Gill has seen action in 218 career regular-season ECHL games with Allen, Reading, Kalamazoo and Victoria posting an overall record of 124-65-18 with 14 shutouts, a 2.57 goals-against average and a save percentage of .915. His 124 wins rank 12th in ECHL history while his 14 shutouts are tied for ninth.
Gill is the ECHL all-time leader with 48 career playoff wins and has captured three Kelly Cup titles (Reading in 2013 and Allen in 2015 and 2016), tied for the most in league history.
