Vaclav Karabacek of the Elmira Jackals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Nov. 21-27.
Karabacek scored three goals, added three assists and was a +5 in three games last week.
The 20-year-old had a goal in a 4-3 overtime loss to Kalamazoo on Wednesday, recorded four points (2g-2a) in a 7-4 win over the K-Wings on Friday and had an assist in a 3-2 overtime loss at Brampton on Sunday.
A second-round selection (49th overall) of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, Karabacek has eight points (3g-5a) in six games for the Jackals this season.
Prior to turning pro, Karabacek scored 117 points (56g-61a) in 171 career games with Gatineau, Baie-Comeau and Moncton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
On behalf of Vaclav Karabacek, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 35,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
