Clarke Saunders of the Colorado Eagles is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 12-18.
Saunders went 3-0-0 with two shutouts, a 1.33 goals-against average and a .958 save percentage as the Eagles extended their winning streak to seven games.
The 27-year-old made 28 saves in a 5-4 win at Allen on Tuesday, stopped all 34 shots he faced in a 4-0 victory at Tulsa on Friday and turned aside all 29 shots in a 1-0 win against the Oilers on Saturday.
A native of Brockville, Ontario, Saunders, who is on a personal seven-game winning streak, is 9-1-1 in 12 appearances with the Eagles this season. He ranks second in the league with a 2.16 goals-against average, is third with a .933 save percentage and is tied for second with two shutouts.
Saunders has appeared in 68 career games for Colorado with a record of 45-14-5 with five shutouts, a 2.71 goals-against average and a save percentage of .907.
Prior to turning pro, Saunders played four seasons of collegiate hockey, spending two years at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and two years at the University of North Dakota.
