Morrison named CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week

Adam Morrison of the Rapid City Rush is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 13-19. It is the second time this season and the fourth time in his career that he has received the weekly honor.

Morrison went 3-0-0 with a 2.64 goals-against average and a save percentage of .926 last week to help the Rush to a sweep of their four-game road trip.

The 26-year-old made 35 saves in a 5-3 win at Tulsa on Friday, stopped 27 shots in a 4-3 victory at Allen on Saturday and had 38 saves in a 3-2 win over the Americans on Sunday.

A native of White Rock, British Columbia, Morrison has appeared in 23 games for the Rush this season going 10-8-4 with one shutout, a 3.04 goals-against average and a save percentage of .905.

Morrison has seen action in 95 career ECHL games with Rapid City, Greenville, Fort Wayne, Reading, Utah and South Carolina with an overall record of 43-31-16 with eight shutouts, a 2.82 goals-against average and a save percentage of .909.

Selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the third round (81st overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Morrison played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Saskatoon and Vancouver prior to turning pro. During the 2011-12 season, he went 35-16-3 in 55 games with Vancouver with a 2.75 goals-against average and a save percentage of .901.
